Katherine is an opera director and producer in New York and the founder of SIGN & SING. Previously the Founder and Artistic Director of Princeton Opera Company and the Founder and Producer of Acappellooza, Katherine focuses on community-based theater and new approaches to musical performance. An active artist, Katherine can be found working at Chautauqua Opera, American Opera Projects, New York Opera Alliance, and other opera companies.
Katherine saw her first opera at age 10. With a fever and a gruesome head cold, she sat in the family circle of the Metropolitan Opera with her mother and watched all of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte with a plastic bag in front of her full of tissues. That night began her life-long obsession with the Queen of the Night, whom she constantly imitated, to the chagrin of her family.
